Precautionary Boil Water Notice: Main Break on Hwy 160 in Pahrump

Early this morning, Great Basin Water Co. employees and contractors responded to a 16-inch water main break located on Winery Road.

The team worked as quickly as possible, following all safety procedures, to isolate the break. In order to safely make repairs, the team needed to temporarily interrupt service to about 500 customers located along the east side of Hwy 160, from the Homestead/Winery Road/Hwy 160 intersection and up to the Home Depot which is just past the intersection of Basin Road and Hwy 160. Several businesses are included in the outage area including medical facilities, eateries, casinos and a hotel.

Repairs completed and water service restored. Precautionary boil water notice in effect.

Great Basin Water Co. has completed repairs to the 16-inch water main located on Winery Road, and water service has been restored to customers. Customers in the impacted area are under a precautionary boil water notice. Customers will be notified via our customer notification system. While the precautionary boil water notice is in effect, customers should bring water to a rolling boil for three minutes prior to cooling and using for consumption.

The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until required water samples are tested, and results confirm water continues to meet water quality standards. The precautionary boil water notice is expected to be lifted early next week.

Customers will be notified when it is rescinded via our notification system, My Utility Account.

Great Basin Water Co. thanks customers for their patience while crews worked to safely make repairs.
