As Carolina Water Service of North Carolina continues to manage the effects of Hurricane Helene, we want to reassure you that we are working hard to meet your water and wastewater needs.
Our teams are working as safely and as quickly as possible across the state to support our customers. In Western NC, we continue to safely assess the impact of Hurricane Helene to our systems. We have procured critical equipment, supplies and mutual aid from our operations in neighboring states. Because of the number of power outages experienced in this area, we have issued boil water notices to our Western NC customers.
Alerts and Boil Water Notices
When a power outage occurs, it can cause a drop in water pressure – when pressure drops below 20 psi, we are required to issue a boil water until we can take samples and determine water quality has not been impacted.
