Annual Water Treatment - Carolina Trace (March 1-April 1)
START DATE:

END DATE:
Apr 01, 2026 17:00 PM
In a continuing effort to provide clean, safe drinking water, Carolina Water Service of North Carolina will conduct its annual water treatment process from March 1 through April 1 in Carolina Trace.
During this period, we will suspend the addition of ammonia to the water supply to comply with North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality requirements. As a result, you may notice a chlorine odor. The water remains safe for drinking, bathing, and everyday use.
This process involves a temporary shift from chloramine disinfection (a blend of chlorine and ammonia) to chlorine-only treatment. After the maintenance period, we will return to standard chloramine use. Customers who normally pre-treat their water to remove chloramines should continue doing so, as trace amounts of ammonia may still be present.
All affected customers have been notified by voicemail or email. For questions, please contact our Customer Service team at 1‑800‑525‑7990.
Thank you.
