This is a courtesy call from Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina, your local water provider for the Bent Creek community.

Customers will experience periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to an emergency repair in your area caused by a contractor hitting one of our water lines.  Repairs are expected to take a few hours to complete barring any complications.  Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water system.

As a precautionary measure, once water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption (including, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation). As an alternative, bottled water may be used.  The North Carolina Division of Water Resources Public Water Supply Section has been contacted concerning this event.

Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

This office is strongly urging water consumers to conserve water whenever possible.  Customers will be notified by a second phone notification message once the Boil Advisory has been rescinded.
