Affected Customers - Sewer Customers in Fairfield Mountain and Apple Valley Communities

This is a courtesy message from Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina, your local water provider for the Fairfield Mountain and Apple Valley communities. Due to the Town of Lake Lure’s sewer plant damage from Hurricane Helene, the town has issued a NO FLUSH order for the entire sewer system. This system serves Carolina Water Service sewer customers in the area. Until further advised, please adhere to the Town’s advisory to not flush anything in toilets or drains.

Emergency repairs are currently being made to the sewer system and wastewater treatment plant. We are hopeful repairs will enable service within the coming weeks. The town is working closely with the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality on all activities and will be in contact with Carolina Water Service with updates. We are accessing the situation and will work with the town to provide community support where needed and keep you informed of any updates as quickly as possible.
