This is a courtesy message from Blue Granite Water Company, your local water provider for the Lake Wylie Area.
Please be advised that the previously issued Boil Advisory has been rescinded. It is no longer necessary for customers to boil water for human consumption (including, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation)
The broken water main was repaired, and the water was restored by York County around 5:00 pm on Thursday, May 9th. Only four subdivisions in York County’s service territory were affected. Blue Granite’s entire Lake Wylie service territory, which includes 39 subdivisions, was affected by this water main break. Flushing the lines for the Blue Granite systems took considerably more time than it took York County to flush and test their affected systems. The larger area to flush and test the water supply caused the boil advisory to last one day longer for Blue Granite customers. We apologize for this inconvenience and have appreciated your patience through this process.
Again, the boil advisory has been rescinded. The water sample results from the laboratory confirmed that your water continues to be safe and you no longer must boil your water.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your patience. If you should have any questions or concerns, please contact our Customer Service Department at (800) 367-4314.
