Monitoring Requirements Not Met for the Labrador System

Dec 04, 2023

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER

Monitoring Requirements Not Met for the Labrador System

We are required to monitor your drinking water for specific contaminants on a regular basis. Results of regular monitoring are an indicator of whether or not our drinking water meets health standards. During the 3rd quarter of 2023 we are required to monitor for Total Trihalomethanes and Haloacetic Acids; however, Sunshine Water Services Company (SWS) failed to collect the required samples per the approved drinking water monitoring requirements. SWS therefore cannot be sure of the quality of our drinking water during that time.

Some people who drink water containing trihalomethanes in excess of the MCL over many years may experience problems with their liver, kidneys, or central nervous system, and may have an increased risk of getting cancer.

What should I do?
There is nothing you need to do at this time.

What happened? What is being done?

We have since taken the required samples on November 21 and 28. The sample results were well below the MCL (maximum contaminant level) for trihalomethanes & haloacetic acids.

For more information, please contact Domenic Gentilucci at (866) 842-8432, or by mail 200 Weathersfield Avenue, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714.

Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.
