Community Utilities of Pennsylvania is making critical investments to upgrade the local water and wastewater systems. This year, Community Utilities of Pennsylvania is investing approximately $6.9 million to support continued reliable service.
While much of the country’s water and wastewater systems often go unnoticed, they deliver life-sustaining and public health support every single day. These systems are aging and need continuous investment to avoid crisis situations like we’ve seen in communities where investment needs are ignored. At Community Utilities of Pennsylvania, we work hard to upgrade our local systems so our customers can continue to trust the service we deliver now and in the future. Our customers support these important investments by paying their bill.
Investments include, among others, the following:
- Installing over 3,400 feet of wastewater main for reliability and sustainability.
- Designing and constructing a new water treatment plant in the Tamiment service area.
- Designing and replacing a lift station that has reached the end of its useful life. This project includes replacing 1,300 feet of 12-inch gravity main and 1,800 feet of 4-inch forcemain for reliable wastewater service.
- Rehabbing the Tamiment’s Tank 3 water storage tank. Work includes sandblasting and recoating the tank.
- Upgrading the Penn Estates Lift Station #2 to support reliable and sustainable wastewater service.
