Ashley Hills North – Well 3 Repair Work Underway Notification

On February 12, 2026, CWSNC notified Ashley Hills North customers of an exceedance in uranium, as required by NCDEQ. Well 3, the affected well, was taken offline immediately upon receiving the annual test results.

The other two wells remain fully compliant, have adequate capacity, and continue supplying safe drinking water to the community. Water remains safe to use normally, including for drinking, cooking, and bathing.

Installation of new filtration equipment is ongoing. CWSNC will retest Well 3 after filtration improvements and will only return it to service once the well meets all state and federal standards. CWSNC will communicate directly with customers when work is completed and Well 3 will be returned to service.

Note: Uranium is a naturally occurring element, commonly found in local rock and soil. Groundwater in areas like Ashley Hills North can naturally experience fluctuations in uranium levels due to local geology and seasonal variation.
