This is a courtesy message from Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina, your local water provider for the Carolina Trace community.

Customers will experience periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system, this afternoon as we replace a water valve.  Our operations staff will work as quickly as possible to restore water by 5 pm barring any complications.  Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increase the potential for back siphonage and the introduction of bacteria into the water system.

As a precautionary measure, it is advised that all consumers boil all water used for human consumption once water is restored.  As an alternative, bottled water may be used.  The North Carolina Division of Water Resources Public Water Supply Section has been contacted concerning this event.

Vigorous boiling for one minute should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

This office is strongly urging water consumers to conserve water whenever possible.  Customers will be notified by a second phone notification message once the Boil Advisory has been rescinded.
